Lake Austin
Lake Austin
This gorgeous waterfront property on Lake Austin was remodeled and modernized from top to bottom. Originally, it was a very traditional Spanish-style home with a red clay tile roof and had large stone pillars at every turn. Our goal was to update all of the interior finishes, and transform the elements of the home without making it feel as if it was a departure from the exterior design elements that were predominately staying in place. The original floor plan felt very compartmentalized, and we focused on opening up the kitchen and living areas to create more of a cohesion between the difference spaces. We also raised the ceiling heights to maximize the open concept feeling. The finished product is a true showstopper!
The Etch team modernized and updated the entire interior from top to bottom, replaced all windows and doors, added a courtyard outside the owners retreat, and selected every element throughout every space of the home. We also outfitted the home with all new interior furnishings to accent the beautiful backdrop. We added a double-sided fireplace, wrapped with gorgeous Dekton slabs, between the living room and the breakfast room. The two powder bathrooms feature beautiful hand-crafted waterfall edge stone countertops with integrated slab sinks. In the kitchen, we installed motorized cabinet doors to conceal the appliance garages and added Bocci plugs at the kitchen backsplash. In the primary bathroom, we chose ombre mosaic wall tile, a custom waterfall edge freestanding slab bench seat, and wall to wall windows that open to a private courtyard.
We focused on the clients’ needs and lifestyle to create a more modern interior with an open floor plan. Natural light was a key component, as well as capturing the beautiful waterfront view along the backside of the property.
