After extensive collaboration with the builder and the structural engineer, we were able to make this client's dream of an open-concept floor plan a reality, and we couldn’t be any happier with the end result!  After removing the walls, we relocated the sink into a new large island, and created a peninsula with plentiful storage on both sides.  A pro-series range and vent hood was added along the back wall alongside a Thermador fridge and freezer column, double oven stack with warming drawer and a Miele professional built-in coffee maker.  This kitchen went from completely closed-off and claustrophobic to an open concept with a bright and airy feel.  What a transformation!  See the "before" photos here.
