Spanish Oaks
The clients purchased this home newly constructed and ready for move-in. The furnishings Etch selected for the home are all family-friendly, with stain-grade fabrics that are easily cleanable. Some of the original selections for the home didn’t quite fit the client’s style, so we upgraded many items in the kitchen, such as the pendants and dining chandelier as well as all cabinet hardware. The client wanted to add some brass accents throughout the home, so we upgraded all hardware to an antiqued brass finish. The lantern-style lighting we chose has a mixture of brass and black accents, which gives a subtle but elegant appeal.

After we collaborated on the main house, our clients decided to build a pool house and came back to Etch to design this charismatic and vibrant space. A guest house with an exquisite selection of interior décor, we included colorful and textural boho-style accent pillows, modern abstract artwork, rugs and a bamboo and coco twig light fixture. We pushed the boundaries of style and color: leading to pink emerging as a standout, to incorporate the client’s favorites but also a special way to incorporate her four daughters. We sought a connection to the outdoors, and played up the natural surroundings of the sweeping oak trees and breathtaking views. The need to strike a balance throughout the house with a clean and modern aesthetic led to the unlikely marrying of cool farmhouse finishes to the warm and bold vibes of bohemian chic. Gray performance fabric barstools from Sunpan extend the cool, breezy vibes with comfort, style and durability. A custom built-in banquette provides seating for the bistro-style table and additional seating includes loom woven rope chairs. Blending two vastly different styles was never the original intent, but as each piece was chosen, the fusion of the two naturally evolved.
