Remodels often start with one element that needs to be addressed and domino into numerous other projects, as was the case with this remodel. The kitchen island remained the focus of the design, due to the fact that the original structural columns were the focal point in the kitchen and a design was needed to diminish their visibility as much as possible. This led to addressing the overall kitchen color, countertops, lighting, and eventually a design was outlined for adding character to the bathrooms, master bedroom, and laundry room. Special attention to wall coverings and lighting shaped the overall aesthetic, highlighting unique elements in the home. See the "before" photos here.
