Tips to make any room look bigger than it actually is
You have a small space where you feel restricted in? You wish you could just make it bigger with a magic wand?
Here are our interior design hacks to make any room look bigger than it actually is. And it’s easier than you may think!
Adding a mirror to a room can really have an important impact on the entire feel of the space. It has this capacity to give the illusion that your place is much bigger than it is.
- Work on the heights
Make sure not all your furniture is at ground level. Have a coffee table with higher legs, add shelves up higher on the walls and plants on the floor or hanging even higher. Placing decoration and furniture at different heights will make your space look more visually interesting and bigger.
- Light tones
Light paint on your walls, light carpet on the floor, and light curtains can really make a big difference.
You can also contrast with a deep darker color accent piece that will pop out next to the neutral tones.
An hidden storage is awesome to make good usage of otherwise lost space.
It could be under a reading nook for example.
- Less clutter, bigger decorations
Remove all the small little decorations around your house. Keep it clutter-free and instead put the focus on one large beautiful decoration piece. It could be an oversized vase or a big art piece on the wall for example.
- Add lights
Make sure there is enough lights all around the space and get a big overhead lamp that will be a complete part of your decoration.
